Midway Services in Clearwater always tells you about how our service techs are NATE-certified, and while it sounds encouraging, what does it really mean?
NATE is the acronym for North American Technician Excellence and, as stated on their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed by and has been supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not everyone in the industry is required to be certified by NATE. The certification is discretionary and technicians can provide heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration services without being certified by NATE.
It’s important to Midway Services that our experts are NATE-certified to be sure we are sending the most qualified and professional technicians into your home. To make sure experts meet these benchmarks, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based assessments that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.
Since Midway Services focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification instead of refrigeration, there are only certain areas applicable to our technicians. NATE exam candidates may receive installation and/or service certification in one or more of the talent areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
