Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning takes pride in sending NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes in North America every day. While this title of being Nate-Certified definitely sounds reassuring, what does it really mean?
NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been accepted by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the field are necessarily NATE-Certified. The certification is elective and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems without being NATE-Certified.
It’s essential to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are placing the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these qualifications, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that measure the technician’s understanding of these rules.
Due to the fact that Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses primarily on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in multiple areas:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
- Oil Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Hydronic Gas (service only)
- Hydronics Oil (service only)
- Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
- Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst
