The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.
“Last year, I had the chance to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would obtain her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to make nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume help along with budgeting and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
