Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each painting two of their company vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to the North Jersey Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to fundraise for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his workers both lost their mothers to other forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still constitutes a huge number of families who are grappling with this disease, and therefore we have an immediate need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, seconded Schneider’s feelings. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in the state – for both females and males.”
