In early July, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was concluding when shots resonated in Dallas. Panic ensued and by night’s end, nine members of Dallas law enforcement were hurt and five lost their lives.
Within a week, Dallas business owners and community leaders united to fundraise for the police officers and their families. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the funds raised by the dinner and silent auction they held were given to the fallen and injured officers and their relatives.
Calverley Service Experts General Manager Tony Polendo was more than honored to join the cause.
“I was at my birthday dinner only blocks away from the horror that occurred that evening,” Polendo remembered. “That night struck a chord for me. As a military veteran, I have absolute respect for any individual who wears a uniform in an effort to protect and serve the community.”
“When my colleague called to inquire if we would support this great cause by merely attending, I wanted to show our support to not only attend, but donate our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team collaborated with Lennox to auction off a new heating and cooling system with complimentary installation at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Take a look at the pictures of the installation.
“I am both honored and appreciative for the opportunity to have participated in such a wonderful event,” Polendo said.
